about

This one came from having nightmares about global thermonuclear war. I still have them sometimes ever since I learned how many nuclear close calls we've had which were not broadly publicized. Boris Yelztin saved all our sorry asses one night. Look it up.

Co-written by Larry Jacobsen, who is no longer with us, as they say. RIP.

lyrics

Blow It Up Now

No more candy bars
No more airplanes, no more cars
No more ice cream, no TV
It's the end for you and me

No more Mary Lou
No Marie, Bob, Dave, or Sue
Mom and dad and baby Blue
Blown away with me and you

Blow it up now

No more holidays
No more ballgames, no more plays
No more sailing 'cross the sea
It's the end of history

No more hands to hold
No more shelter from the cold
No more voice, no tears to cry
Lonely sadness in the sky

Blow it up now
I can't stand the suspense
Blow it up now
We'll call it self-defense

Sarahtonin Portland, Oregon

Sarah Jane Burke began playing piano at age five. She had a handful of piano lessons, but is mostly self-taught. She took up guitar at about age 11, mostly inspired by The Beatles, and other "British Invasion" acts. She began writing songs at around age 12, playing in bands at 13, and by 17, she'd taught herself to compose full scores. She's been composing, recording, and performing ever since. ... more
