about

Another song about beliefs and believing. Hey, whadya want, a break-up song? A sexy dance number? A cute "indie" song about teddy bears or bicycles?

(Translation of the latin phrase in the lyrics, which is a paraphrase from the Catholic mass:
Take this, and kiss it, all of you. For this is my ass.)

lyrics

Some People Pray

Some people pray to a god of fear
A god, they cry, we must all revere
Some let the stars tell them who is who
Or ask the cards what they ought to do
But I don't believe anybody really knows what's true

You say I'm doomed 'less I chant your chants
Adore your dogma and dance your dance
You zealous fools who pretend to know
Your fiery Hell is where you can go
Cuz I don't believe superstition ever saved a soul

Accipite, et basiate haec omnes: haec est enim puga mea.

Maybe the I there behind the eyes
Will cease to be when the body dies
What if the wonder of chemistry
Is everything we will ever be?
But I don't believe what you see is all there is to me
