Going Down 04:32
Think I'm in trouble Feel like I'm lost at sea Storm blew me sideways Don't know where I'm bound to be Longing to go home Dreaming of better days Simple and happy Was another life Looks like I'm here to stay I hear a perpetual Roaring sea I hear a sky full of stars Calling me Come home Find me I've been here For the entire climb Save me I'm going down For the final time Again Dreamed I was special Living to love and learn Followed a phantom Down a road of no return Thought I heard laughter Thought I would join the game All these years after Horrified to learn I'd left a trail of pain Waves call me home Save me

I Had No Idea I laid on a stone One cold April night Beneath the Northern glow The solar wind Danced over the sky A ghostly blue-green flow I loved the sky I loved the stars That shined on through But I had no idea What love really was Until I loved you We rode the storm Long as we could Ignored the warning bell A bitter wind Rolled in overnight And dreams of Heaven fell I know the pain, the loss of love We all go through But I had no idea What losing was Until I lost you The darker the night The brighter the stars That light the Milky Way The Summer wind Whispers through the trees A dream of endless play I love the trees And the silent song They're dancing to But I had no idea What love really was Until I loved you

Are you a boy or a girl? (Yes, I am) Can't tell the boys from the girls (We like it that way) You dreamed of fashions you wanted to wear You longed to paint your face and toss your hair You say you can't go on living a lie I say the lie's in your own mirror's eye A gender bender has people confused Embraced androgyny that they refused The children ask, Are you female or man? I am I am I am I am I am

Sarahtonin Portland, Oregon

Sarah Jane Burke began playing piano at age five. She had a handful of piano lessons, but is mostly self-taught. She took up guitar at about age 11, mostly inspired by The Beatles, and other "British Invasion" acts. She began writing songs at around age 12, playing in bands at 13, and by 17, she'd taught herself to compose full scores. She's been composing, recording, and performing ever since. ... more
